Andrew BaumanisQualificationsB App Sc, Grad Dip Ed, ATPL InformationAndrew has been flying since 1969 and received his private pilot licence before receiving his car driver's licence and relied on his passengers to drive him to the airport in order to take them flying. Since then he has flown a variety of aircraft and now flies turboprop aircraft for a regional company based at Perth airport. Since 1990 Andrew has directed his energy into aviation education and was the driving force behind one of Australia's first government approved private institutions of aviation education with courses structured around the licensing syllabus from the private pilot to the air transport pilot. In 2000 he took up a lecturing position at Edith Cowan University in Western Australia. Andrew has served in an advisory capacity with the licensing division
of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority and is currently a member
of the WA Transport Industry Training Council and the Bureau of
Meteorology Aviation Industry Education Group.
