Engineering at ECU encompasses the breadth of modern engineering practice with courses in Civil, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Power, Electronics and Communications, Instrumentation Control & Automation, and Computer Systems engineering. Our undergraduate courses in engineering provide excellent foundations in mathematics, physics, electronics, computing, management, and effective communication skills. Foundation studies are followed by a specialisation in a selected area, culminating in a major engineering project. All of our engineering courses include system design, development, and project management.
Motorsports at ECU
Turn your passion into your career. If motor sport action gets you revved-up, the Motorsports degree at ECU is your dream come true. The Bachelor of Technology (Motorsports) program will equip you for a career in Motor Racing, Automotive Design & Development, New Manufacturing Technologies, Team and Project Management and Sport Marketing.
The course content and its delivery are as exhilarating as the careers at the end of it. Not only will you learn the fundamentals of Motorsport from the ground up, you will also experience racetrack action first-hand from our close involvement with local circuits.
The Motorsports course develops problem solving abilities and the technical, financial and management skills associated with manufacturing industries in general, and the motorsports industry in particular. Students gain a solid understanding of the entire design, simulation and fabrication processes and management issues associated with manufacturing industries, with particular emphasis on motorsports.
The course provides a stimulating and supportive learning environment with an enthusiastic and articulate approach which reflects the culture of motorsports. Students have the opportunity to further develop competences through the provision of extra-curricular activities, to help progression into the motorsports industry.

The School aims to provide students with relevant courses of the highest standard in a friendly and supportive environment, where a strong industry focus enriches the teaching and learning outcomes. The School has state-of-the-art equipped teaching laboratories to support all the areas of specialisation offered including mechanical science, manufacturing, electrical, control, electronics, and communications.
The School is located on the modern and spacious Joondalup campus, which offers a harmonious teaching and learning environment and a lifestyle ideal for productive study. Access to the campus is made easy by the close proximity to the freeway and regular shuttle buses from the Joondalup train and bus stations.
The School also hosts the National Networked Teletest Major National Research Facility for microelectronic design and test, the WA Centre of Excellence in microphotonics, and the Centre for Communications Research.
